Rainy trail work with the kids today. We built a ride-around at the tree that fell in the middle of the Dover Overlook trail (aka "Pajama Party"). Put a little fun feature at the bottom of our reroute for you to enjoy!

While our trail work parties are on hold during social distancing, we welcome volunteers who want to get out as individuals or with their families. Please send us a DM if you're interested in borrowing some tools and doing some work. We've got lots of ideas of where some trail maintenance can take place.

If you just want to get out for a walk and some light trail work, bring a garden rake and head up to Syringa! There is still tons of debris down across this trail (Dover Overlook) that could be taken care of with a garden rake!

Thanks to POP member Mike McCoy for helping me build this sweet new switchback with berm on Sherwood Forest's Bier Bridge trail today! It was needed after a downed tree pulled up a huge root ball in the middle of the trail.

If you're interested in doing some trail work, shoot us a DM or email me at jason@pendoreillepedalers.org. Work parties are on hold until the stay at home order is lifted, but heading out to do a little work on your own or with one other person is a great way to get out of the house, break a sweat, and get your mind off the craziness of the world right now!

Timeline PhotosHello All -
In an effort to do our best to help stem the spread of the Corona Virus Pandemic, we've decided to postpone this year's 3/4 Minus Cykeltur to Sunday, August 23rd. Our hope is that by then, current and ongoing efforts to flatten the curve of infection will have had good results. This was not an easy decision, but we feel it is the correct one. CDC's current recommendation of an 8-week suspension of gatherings of 50 people or more takes us beyond May 2. Similarly, the City of Sandpoint has suspended all special events, like the 3/4 Minus Cykeltur, through April 30th, at which time the suspension will be re-evaluated.
We understand it's possible that some of you who have already registered may not be able to participate on August 23rd. So, we will offer registration refunds to those who cannot attend. Alternatively, if you prefer, we will apply your registration fees as a donation to the Pend Oreille Pedalers, the event beneficiary.

We are sorry for having to postpone, but I hope you understand these are not normal times. The good thing about the postponement is that you will all have more time to train! Registration is still open. In the meantime, keep yourselves and those around you safe and healthy. We hope to see you in August.

Thank You. #threequarterminuscykeltur #gravelgrinder #gravelride

Pend Oreille Pedalers

POP volunteers got it done tonight! Lower Greta's, PSW lower connector, Butterfly narrow trail, Little John, Sherwood Forest west side trail, and Bier Bridge are all cleared of downed trees, much of it raked of debris, and ready to ride or hike.

The top 3rd of Greta's is closed until a logging company can get in there later in the season. Please respect the trail closure and enjoy the beautifully built singletrack in Pine Street Woods! Detour signs and yellow tape are up to direct you to the correct route.

Thanks to the dozen or so volunteers who showed up tonight and worked their butts off for over three hours! To show your support for our trail work, please renew you membership today! www.pendoreillepedalers.org/join/

Tomorrow night a POP-led crew will go in and restore a route from the Greta's Segway trailhead to the sign board at the top of Syringa Heights. Unfortunately the top quarter mile or so of Greta's is going to be closed indefinitely due to the large number of trees knocked down in last weekend's storm. A detour will be set up using Pine Street Woods Butterfly trail and some corridors that were groomed for fat biking this winter (see map). Riders, hikers, dog walkers, and trail runners should be able to resume trips from West Pine into Sherwood Forest by this weekend!

We're working with property owners to clean up downed trees in Sherwood Forest in the coming days, both from last weekend's storm and from earlier in the winter. In the mean time, please take it easy on these wet and soft trails: we recommend sticking to your fat bikes until things have dried out a bit more!
