Do you even Enduro, Bro?
So you weren’t able to make it to our recent “mini-Enduro” race at VTT? No problem, you can still attempt the race on your own! The course and virtual race will remain open through the end of June. The self-timed VTT Enduro Race challenge is as follows: You have one and a half hours to complete the VTT Enduro course. Downhills are timed, climbs are not; but you mustn’t lollygag, as the clock is ticking!
First, download the Web Scorer app on your phone:
Next, register for the race.
Next, open the Webscorer app on your phone and click on “my upcoming races.” You will see “VTT Enduro” on the list. Click on it. Time to start the race. Head out of the parking lot to Green Heart and make your way to the top of Downward Dog.
The course
- Stage 1: Downward Dog (you may finish on either the steeper Wabi Sabi slab or cut over to Dwayne Jonson at the bottom of Chaos Theory)
- Stage 2: Zen Garden
- Stage 3: Chaos Theory
- Stage 4: Wabi Sabi
How Self-timing Works
When you get to the top of Stage 1 (Downward Dog), you’ll see a QR code posted. When you’re ready to race, open the Web Scorer app, click “Scan code for Stg 1 DD START” and point your phone at the QR code on the sign. A timer will start on your phone. Stash your phone quickly in a convenient pocket for fast withdrawal at the bottom of the stage. Now PEDAL!!
When you get to the bottom of Downward Dog, quickly draw your phone and scan QR code on on the sign “Stage 1 Downward Dog FINISH.” (There are three QR codes The timer will stop recording and your time will be entered into the race database.
Climb Green Heart to the top of stage 2 (Zen Garden) and repeat. Repeat the steps for stages 3 and 4. After scanning the final QR code (bottom of Wabi Sabi) you can make your way back to the VTT parking lot for our volunteer appreciation BBQ!
Remember, climbs are not timed but you only have 1.5 hours to complete the race so pace yourself accordingly! The final QR code must be scanned no later than 7:30 or you’re disqualified.
Safety Info:
- Please give the rider in front of you a good 30-45 second head start before beginning a downhill stage.
- Do not attempt to pass on a downhill.
- Ride within your limits. If you are not already comfortable on all of the trails in the course, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS RACE!
- If you wish to stick to only the blues, complete stages 1 and 2 then return to the parking lot or go for a joy ride around Rotarian!
- This is a FUN RACE only! There are no prizes that are worth dying for!
